Right, I'm going to start this post talking about my mental health. Let's just say it's not been good, getting progressively worse for the past month and a half. I've been feeling worthless and doubting my abilities to draw anything at all. I lost all desire to create, the worst case of artists block I have ever had. Not only have I been feeling like a failure, but I've been very lonely. I miss my family and friends who are all back in France. I did try and get a session with the uni counselor, but she must be busy at the moment.
I am trying my best to sort through my issues and confront my fears. Hopefully the worst has past and I am able to regain some control over my state of being. I am telling you this stuff not as any excuse, but more of an explanation if that makes sense. Anyway, I hope you understand. I seem to understand the principals of perspectives, the horizon line being eye level, vanishing points are where straight lines follow to, you can have multiple vanishing points on the horizon line, above and below. Ellipses are made with boxes in perspective etc .. you get my drift. But I don't think my brain or my hands understand how to put them into practice as you will see in the pictures below. I have enjoyed learning about all this and I've found a couple good videos on youtube so I think I'll keep trying in my own time. Hopefully when I find inspiration I will put it to good use. Here goes! I think I understand the one and two point perspective, but I seem to be missing some crucial understanding for ellipses and cylinders.. Ahhrff!
